Top Oldenburg Verband Foal in North America 2009

We were thrilled to receive news yesterday, that our 2009 Quaterback/Florencio colt “Quote, unquote” has been named top foal on the German Oldenburg Verband Tour for 2009.

Quipid (for short) was named a Foal of Distinction at his Inspection as well as a Stallion Prospect. Crosiadore Farm will retain him and raise him as a Stallion. I believe Quipid has the breeding, the looks, the movement and the temperament to warrant this decision. Time will tell!

Licotus/Landadel Filly

This is our two year old Licotus/Landadel filly Marmara. She is a good 16.3 but very balanced and proportional. Her movement is exceptional. I can't wait to get her under saddle next year!

Wynton Colt Age Three months

Wynterthur is a beautiful type with three expressive gaits. He has a super hind leg and is an incredibly athletic colt. I think he should end up about 16.2 - 16.3 and is going to be a beautiful liver chestnut when he finishes shedding. He is a super sport horse prospect and is offered for sale.

Sabati

Sabati continues to develop beautifully. He has started to really fill out and put on muscle in the last few weeks. He continues to be a joy to train. Sabati will attend his second show the first weekend in June and hopefully score well in the FEI Four Year Old Test again. We are looking forward to taking both Sabati and Steinway to The Markel Young Young Championships in August.
Wynton colt age one month

I took new video of Wally last weekend. This is a extremely athletic colt with a very fancy trot. He is shedding out to be liver chestnut. Offered for sale before inspection at 14,000 dollars.

Lowara(Londonderry/Weltmeyer)

This is Lowara warming up for her classes at Morven Park a few weeks back. It was her first show of the year and she was a star!Lowara won both her Open Training Level Class with a 76.9 % and her Open First Level Classes with score of 76 %

Not to be out done, Steinway and Sabati also put in great performances. Steinway won the FEI Five Year Old Class on Saturday with a score of 86.8 %. And on Sunday, placed third in the same Qualifier Class with a 81.6 %.

Sabati competed in the Four Year Old Class placing second on Saturday with a score of 86 %. On Sunday in the Qualifier he was a bit unfocused in his test, but was able to score a respectable 79.6 %.
Right now, both are qualified for the national Championships in Wayne, Illinois.
Fackeltanz Colt Two Months

This is a photo of Ferrante (Fackeltanz/Licotus/Quo Vadis) at age two months. He is a super moving colt and we are thrilled with him. He is offered for sale. Both Ferrante and Wynterthur (pictured below) should make amazing mounts for the Dressage arena! Both have excellent walks too!

From left to right:
Brunotte (Florencio/Feiner Stern)
Lalique (Stedinger/Donnerhall)
Marmara (Licotus/Landadel)
Laureanna (Samarant/Donnerhall)

I adore these girls and can't wait to get them started next year. They are all beautiful types: modern warmbloods that are elegant, have good bone, great minds and fancy gaits!

Quinlan

Can you guess this colt's sire ? My wonderful producer Brianna(Harvard/Akzent II) has hit a home run with this colt! I have seen quite a few Quaterback foals but don't think I have seen one that resembles his sire as much as Quinlan.

We are expecting two more foals by Quaterback the end of May. This one is already spoken for.
New Fackeltanz Colt

Please welcome Ferrante, pictured here at five days of age. He is by Fackeltanz(Florencio/Feinbrand) out of our Licotus mare Aussprache. Aussprache was one of two mares to be awarded the title of Special Premium this year at her GOV MPT.
This colt is more than I could have wished for. I am blown away by his quality and composure.

Sabati and Steinway

Our four year old Sandro Hit/Rubinstein gelding Sabati attended his first horse show last weekend and he was a star. What a brave and talented boy. Sabati competed in the FEI Four Year Old Test scoring a 7.8. This put him in a four way tie for second place with his brother Steinway. Sabati is one to watch!

Quaterback/Londonderry Filly

We  are calling this beautiful filly Quintessa. She had quite a rough start in life, but is doing beautifully now. She is now allowed to be turned out in a small paddock. She is a bit confused about the space, but she will learn!

You can see her real dam, Lowara pictured below.

Quintessa

Premium Quaterback/Londonderry filly. This filly due to bladder surgery was supposed to have her first day out in a large area on the 8th of August. She moved like a little ballerina though, andI know her movement will just get better now that she can be turned out on a regular basis. This filly has the most charming personality I have ever seen in a foal. Super curious and does not miss a thing going on! She is a keeper for the farm.

Quinlan

Quaterback/Harvard/Akzent II colt that was also awarded a premium at the inspection. He was purchased in-utero and I think his new owner is very pleased with him. He is going to make an excellent riding horse.

Sabati places third in the USEF/Markel National Championship

Sabati (Sandro Hit/Rubinstein) and his rider Ulla Petersen had a fantastic show at Dressage at Lamplight. They placed third in the Four Year Old Class with a 83.8 %! Sabati was also awarded for being the highest scoring US bred horse in the Class. The competition was amazing so we are thrilled with the placing of our two full brothers Sabati and Steinway.

For those looking to purchase a top horse for the future, Sabati is offered for sale.

Steinway takes fifth place in USEF/Markel Nation Young Horse Championships

Congratulations to Ulla Petersen and our Five year old Sandro Hit/Rubinstein gelding Steinway on a fantastic showing at the National Championships! It was a two days show with the first day counting for 40 % of total and the second day 60%.

Day one Steinway placed fourth in the Five year old preliminary class with a score of 78.4. In the final class, Steinway was very tired but managed to place fifth with a score of  75%. The combined scores were good enough for fifth place overall!
Off to the Markel/USEF National Young Horse Championships

Our four and five year old full brothers Sabati and Steinway leave tomorrow for the trip to Wayne, Illinois for the Championships at Dressage at Lamplight.  Competition starts on Friday so I will post results then.

Thought it would be fun to post a photo of Steinway at his GOV Inspection 2004. He was the top foal that day and the judge commented he looked like he might be good enough for the "Big Ring" one day. That is a few years down the road, but Steinway is on the right track!

La Violetta

Our 2008 Hofrat /Donnerhall/Pik Bube filly is growing like a weed! She reminds me very much of her dam La Donnarina, but in a longer legged form. Violett is going to be a super riding horse . Please read more about her on her Sale’s Page

Fiderline Wins the GOV Mare Performance Test!

Our three year old Fidertanz/Harvard/Grundstein II filly was Champion Mare last weekend at the German Oldenburg Verband Mare Performance Test held in Chestertown, MD. Fiderline won with an outstanding score of 8.14. She received no score lower than an “8” with 8.5 for trot under saddle and ridability.

Special thanks and congratulations to her rider Ulla Petersen for doing such a great job preparing this green three year old for her test.
Marmara Devon 2009

Our two year old Licotus/Landadel filly had a super three days of showing at Devon. Marmara won her Open Two year Old Fillies Class, the Filly Championship, Reserve in the Young Horse Championships and then first place again in the East Coast Breeder’s Championship. It was a VERY long day but Marmara was a trooper. Marmara is elegant, elastic and as cool tempered as they come. We will breed her by ET next year so she can pursue a show career. I can not wait to see this one under saddle.
Federer Devon 2009

This is our three year old Fidertanz/Rubinstein Gelding at his first Horse Show! Federer has been under saddle now for a little over two months but acts like he has been showing for two years. What an excellent character and work ethic. Federer placed Third in the Three Year Old Suitable to become a Dressage Horse and Second in the Three Year Old Stallion and Gelding Materiale.

Federer was the third offspring of my Rubinstein mare Rosalea to compete at Devon this year.
Sabati Devon 2009

Here is our four year old Sandro Hit/Rubinstein gelding competing at Devon. Sabati placed second in the Four Year old Material Class on Wednesday, sixth in the Four Year Old Young Horse Class on Thursday ( nerves got the better of him) and then Won the Four Year USEF Test Old Test on Friday with an 8.04. The next highest score in the class was a 73.8 %!

Sabati finishes out his first year showing with a Third at the Young Horse Nationals in Wayne, Illinois and a First Place Finish his first time to Devon!
Steinway Devon 2009

Steinway, our five year old Sandro Hit/Rubinstein gelding produced a double header at Devon this year, placing first in the FEI FIve Year Old Classes on Thursday and Friday! Huge congratulations to his rider Ulla Petersen who has worked hard preparing all the riding horses this year.

On Friday we had FIRST places in both the Four and Five Year Old Classes with our full brothers bred here on the farm in MD. A memorable day for sure!
